Education System
Education is highly valued in the Argentinian society. Kindergarten is optional for children of four or five years old. Mandatory education begins at the age of six and ends at fourteen. The public primary schools are free, but there are no public school buses and the students have to buy their own books for class and uniforms.
For some students, the school day begins at 8am and ends at noon, but others attend from 1pm to 5pm. Once the students walk into the class the flag is raised and they sing their national anthem. During each session of class they get three breaks of 10 minutes each for their recess. In some rural, areas students ride to school on horseback and some places out in the country have their own one-room schoolhouse for the children living on the ranch.
